Q3 Is Here Already - Let's Plan!

Recently, my friend reminded me of the time I told her that I was going to quit my job by the end of the year. I was dead ass serious! I had made a decision, and not to be to "woo woo," but I made it clear; I wrote it down. Then, I let God and the universe (whatever you believe) do their thing (while simultaneously working my ass off to find new clients and position myself to leave). And by the end of the year, I was OUT!

I tell this story because as we approach the second half of the year, you may be thinking, "WTF?... Where has the time gone, and what am I doing with my life?" But it was right around this time, in 2017, that I had made the declaration to my friend, and with determination and a plan, I made it happen.

So I say to you, all is not lost. You can still make the most of this year and achieve your goals!

Today is a great day to start Q3 and end of the year planning. You still have 6 months to make it happen, so let's do it. I challenge you to take an hour over the weekend and have a serious "Come to Jesus" moment with yourself. Get real with you. Make some decisions. And commit to taking on the next 6 months with intention and the will to make your goals a reality. Create the life you want, and start with these 10 steps:

  1. Get over it! Stop dwelling on what you haven't achieved and commit to establishing new habits to complete your goals.

  2. Get a small notebook that you can carry with you as you travel (make this your best friend).

  3. Write down ALL of your goals. The big and the small, get them out of your head, onto paper, and into the universe.

  4. Prioritize these goals. This is the hard part, but it must be done! Here's the truth: You can have it all, but you cannot have it all right now! We only have so much capacity, and in order to track toward your ideal life, you're going to have to take one step at a time, and that means prioritizing.

  5. Choose your top 2 goals. That's it. That is what you are going to pursue over the next 6 months.

  6. On 2 separate pages in your notebook, write these goals at the top of the page (one goal per page).

  7. Jot down everything you need to do to achieve the goal on the same page. These are your action steps.

  8. Get a calendar. Besides these action steps, PUT A DUE DATE!

  9. Add these steps to your digital calendar. Create an automated reminder for 3 days before each item is due.

  10. Respond to this email with your goals and a photo of your action plan so that I can be your accountability partner!

OK, so once you've completed these 10 steps, you will have:

  1. Set an intention

  2. Created a plan

  3. Built in accountability

Now, here is the key: EVERY SINGLE MORNING, you must review these pages in your notebook. Every day! Do not skip this. It is not enough to make the plan; you must be intentional with your actions EVERY DAY!

I know 10 Steps is a lot, but anything worth having is worth working for. So let's finish the year strong and create the lives we want! OK?
