I sound like a total fangirl, and it’s super uncomfortable for me, but… I have to give props when they are due, and honestly this podcast has seriously lit a fire inside of me that has produced results in my life and my business. Behind The Brilliance is my life/business coach. Here are three reasons I think you should give it a try.
1. General Dopeness
Let me just start by saying, if you are not listening to Behind The Brilliance by Lisa Nicole Bell you are not living your best life. Honestly, I can directly relate the success I’ve seen in my life over the last six months to listening to this podcast. And let me tell you, the success I’ve seen has been pretty significant (not to toot my own horn, but that is honestly the wholehearted truth). She interviews some pretty phenomenal people that you’ve never heard of and it’s brilliant (no pun intended). After almost every interview I listen to on Behind The Brilliance I feel inspired and like all of my goals are going to come to fruition. It’s amazing what listening to the success stories of regular, everyday people can do to your confidence. I mean, we all know about Oprah and Steve Jobs and Warren Buffet, but that level of success can seem so out of reach that it can be deflating sometimes. However, listening to the stories of the people I feel are “just like me” have encouraged me to take myself seriously, to really go after my goals and to go hard. And because of it (along with some other stuff), I have landed the two biggest deals of my life -- more on this in a future post. So, my point is… if I can get serious so can you, and a good place to start may be listening to this podcast!
2. Reading Inspiration
I’ve always loved reading, since I was a little girl. Reading allowed me to pass my courses in college (because I didn’t really like going to class), and in general reading is super empowering. But, life... In the past six years, I’ve probably gone through life reading two, maybe three books a year. I felt that I didn’t have time, with my job and my husband and my kids and trying to start my business, I was just stretched too thin. But that was a lie. I was not making time to read and it was directly impacting my productivity in life. Another thing Behind The Brilliance has inspired me to do is to stop making excuses about why I don’t have time to read and to just do it (she gives great book recommendations). Literally, in the last six months I’ve ready eight books, which has also influenced my recent success and reignited a passion for learning and just becoming better in all aspects of my life.
3. Morning Routine Ideas
THIS! Implementing a morning routine in my life has been a complete game changer for me. I’m sure you’ve read many tales of how entrepreneurs wake up at the crack of dawn, and the most successful people wake up at 5 AM, blah, blah, blah. I don’t necessarily subscribe to that line of thinking. I honestly think people have to do what works best for them. But, honey… waking up at 5:30 AM has changed my life for the better. With so many things competing for my mental energy on a daily basis, this time in the morning allows me to restore my center (whatever that means). I am able to spend some time with myself (which is important, because I am an introvert), meditate, journal, plan, just do whatever self-care activity that I need to do in that time to approach the day with ease and optimism. If there is one thing that I would recommend to everyone to make their lives better, it would be start a morning routine… I understand your skepticism, I’m a skeptic too. But seriously, try it for a week and tell me life doesn’t change. I’ll write a more in depth post about what I do in my morning routine in the future.
In the meantime, check out Behind The Brilliance and let me know what you think.
